Teenage Angst. Is it a real thing or just fantasy?

Is Teenage Angst a thing?

I have a teenager, well two actually. One is just a recently freshly born teenager, so i haven’t placed her in the Teenage Angst category just yet. I am sure given a few months, the true Teenage traits will emerge with all their ferocity and fury.

So i am wondering in view of the older Teenager in the house, and the most breathtaking behaviour that we are experiencing-think fragile old mortar bomb from world war 2, recently discovered, carefully removed from the backyard of an unsuspecting pensioner, and now housed in a dark room, where there is little light, little disruption, little contact, and only approached with extreme caution and normally with a protective suit, maybe a shield, and lots of support personnel.

Is Teenage Angst a real Thing, or just a phrase to excuse the volatile and moody swings of turbulent teenage life?
